People say bad things about me. I\'ve had people tell me, \"You know, Rush, I\'ve been telling people to listen to you and listen to you, and I finally get \'em to do it, and then you say something so offensive, and they look me, \'You listen to this?\' And I\'m tired of defending you, Rush. Why do you say stupid things?\" I know what this is like.
Since we don\'t have a tyrant or a dictator, we can\'t put people who are burning flag in jail. But Donald Trump is telling you what he thinks of \'em. He\'s not gonna do anything of the sort. This is where people go off the rails with Trump, with this literal business and so fort
Do people on food stamps actually need more movies to watch? Well, I\'m probably treading dangerously close to the line of insensitivity, right?
Folks, don\'t lose perspective. Michelle Obama husband has been in office 7-1/2 years. This country is in the middle of a massive transformation. She\'s not gonna go out there and undercut her husband. She probably thinks that the things her husband has done that are transforming this country, that 94 million Americans aren\'t working... I mean, if you knew what to listen for, you could hear the push-button signs that she\'s still angry, still carries around a lot of resentment.
I was right - Barack Obama\'s primary objective is to return the nation\'s wealth to it\'s rightful owners. This guy comes, if you look at some of his czars, for example, this Mark Lloyd guy.
American patriotism is now jingoism. American Greatness is made fun of. The concept of \"Make America Great Again\" or American exceptionalism is lampooned. It is impugned. It is attacked. The effort to globalize our society and make us feel, as many of us as possible, that there\'s nothing special about being an American, that we ought to think of ourselves as citizens of the world, and in that context America is a problem because we have too much, we\'ve done too much, we owe too much, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Liberals are liberals, and it\'s not helpful to them when they are so identified. They go out of their way to avoid being called liberal. They don\'t like it. They talk about Republican versus Democrat, voter identification, conservative versus liberal is where you need to look.
Impeachment really is not a criminal proceeding. The American people have been conditioned to believe that, you know, high crimes and misdemeanors means what? Impeachment is a purely political process. And it can only succeed if there is the political will for it out there in the country. You can have all the misdemeanors and high crimes you want, but if the president\'s popular, you\'re not gonna succeed.
Ronald Reagan comes out of nowhere, at least as far as these people are concerned in the establishment. I\'m telling you, back in 1980, the media and the Washington-New York establishment was as disdainful of Ronald Reagan as they are of Donald Trump.
There are tax increases throughout this Obamacare thing. It is just an expansion of government for the purposes of redistribution of wealth, and it\'s being said it\'s a health care bill to improve the lives of the American people and provide more access to the health care system for the American people who were denied it. It\'s all a sham. It\'s all a giant hoax just like this climate change thing is.
The Democrats are losing. And look, folks, I don\'t mean to beat a dead horse here. I\'m not doing anything other than pointing out what\'s actually factually happening. I\'m not drawing any inferences from it. The Democrats are actually losing as themselves. They are losing elections if they are honest about what they want to do. It doesn\'t surprise me at all that Jon Ossoff would be running around.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Reagan tax cuts turned the deepest recession since the Great Depression into the largest 20-year economic boom in American history. The Reagan tax cuts of 1981 and \'86. And the same thing can happen here again. Democrats just cannot let it.
The Republicans didn\'t get rolled by anybody. Chuck Schumer didn\'t outsmart Mitch McConnell, and Nancy Pelosi sure as hell did not outsmart Paul Ryan. I don\'t care what you think of Ryan, he\'s not an idiot, folks. These people are not dumb. They\'re not sitting up there thinking, \"All we gotta do is be nice to the Democrats and the media.\"
There\'s no way you can grow an economy with that, with that many people not working and not paying taxes, you can have any kind of government solvency, you can\'t have any kind of growing economy, which is exactly what the Democrats want, by the way. Much better for the Democrats that you don\'t work. The more you work, the less dependent on them you are. If this sounds hideous, I\'m sorry, it\'s true.
Forty percent of Americans describe themselves as conservative, 36% independents, and 20% liberal. And these independents are abandoning the Democrat Party in droves. And a key point, they\'re abandoning the Democrat Party without the Republican Party giving them any reason to go to them. They\'re just abandoning the Democrats because they don\'t like what they see.
We cannot allow our Republican party to be based on what Olympia Snowe and Ben Nelson or Blanche Lincoln may or may not do. What\'s smart about that? You do that, build a strong future on a foundation with unreliable keystones.
This is the first time a newly inaugurated president has had any impact on a current budget.\" What that means is that normally when a president\'s inaugurated in January, the budget for the first calendar year of his term or the first nine months is already done. So from January 21st all the way \'til October when the new budget\'s done, the president has to deal with the previous Congress\' budget and has nothing to say about it. What they\'re saying is that Donald Trump has had a record-breaking, never-before-seen thing by having an impact on the budget in his first year.
Millennials think Maxine Waters is God-sent. She\'s an oracle! She holds the magic truths. She\'s one of the few Democrats willing to say what she says, and these young Millennials are just glomming onto her like you can\'t believe. It\'s one of the most amazing social science experiments to look at this happen.
We see how popular Bernie Sanders was, and it might have mattered. It might have made that Democrat ticket a little bit more unified, and mollified the anger that the Bernie Sanders people felt when they learned that his whole campaign was a joke because he\'s been cheated and they had engaged in fraud.
Back in 1980, the conservative movement was all-in for Ronald Reagan. Once Reagan won, they all wanted to be on the team. It was a landslide. Everybody wants to bask in that glow. And then as the Reagan years began, then the Republicans, certain members of the party began to individually fall out and start talking about problems they had, secretly telling the media they thought Reagan was a dunce and a danger to world peace, adopting the Democrat line that Reagan\'s finger on the nuclear button couldn\'t be trusted.
Nothing\'s new since Genesis. And so everybody in their life thinks history began when they were born. Most people\'s historical perspective happened when they were born in the sense that nothing has ever been this bad. \"We\'ve never gone before this before,\" and of course we have. Things have been worse in many ways in the country.
I guess we cut Michelle Obama\'s garden. You hear about that? The Democrats are distressed.
It looks like President Donald Trump is caving on his demand for a measly $1 billion in the budget for his wall on the border with Mexico. The Democrats are threatening a government shutdown. It\'s the same old same old, and I was hoping that Trump would throw this shutdown thing right back in their face. If they get away with it once, they\'re just going to keep using it.
Barack Obama says he\'s gonna stay in Washington, but presidents don\'t stay in Washington. Presidents, they get out of there as fast as they can, \'cause it\'s like a prison to them. And Michelle Obama\'s even said as much about the White House. So the fact that he\'s gonna stay there has always told me that he\'s gonna stay there to protect his legacy, whatever it is, and that he\'s not gonna observe the age-old protocols of standing aside and staying silent for awhile while the new president takes office.
The left wants to transform America away from founding ideals, and this is it. And they know it. And they\'re doing everything they, and they\'ve got the media helping them and so forth. I think one of the ways of exposing \'em is to ridicule \'em. I mean, laughter is the simplest way to humiliate somebody. Laugh at them, it shrinks them.
Trump is actually achieving quite a lot. He has actually already fulfilled a whole bunch of campaign promises. The economy is doing great. Jobs, real jobs are being created. American companies are announcing they\'re gonna reopen factories here. The coal industry is coming back to life because of what Trump did. And for his part, you know, Trump seems aware about it.
If you have the desire, if you really had people with the burning desire to lower taxes, it would be done. We know the Democrats don\'t want to do it.
We don\'t know for a fact that Donald Trump did. We only think we know because it\'s been reported by how many unconfirmed, anonymous sources? Two scoops of ice cream, Trump\'s so selfish, guests only get one. The contrast is stark. Trump on this trip and the Trump in Washington. My contention is that Trump is Trump. What\'s different is the reporting.
We\'ve got the prime minister of Egypt Sherif Ismail, the president of Egypt Ibrahim Mahlab saying that Donald Trump is uniquely equipped to do great things.
Health care is very complicated, and the government\'s had its tentacles woven deeply into this whole charade for over 50 years. But I don\'t understand why it\'s this hard that you can\'t do anything? It\'s the same thing as, \"Well, Rush, you know, once an entitlement\'s been put into law, Rush, you can\'t take it away.\" Yes, you can! It\'s just you can\'t have elected people do it thinking they\'ll get reelected if they do it. But you can do it.
