European films were what it was about for me - the sensations I needed, the depth, the storytelling, the characters, the directors, and the freedom that you can't really find in American films. (Allard J)
I did that film just so I could kiss Robert Redford. (Allard J)

“My name is Domino Harvey (My name is Domino Harvey), ... I am a bounty hunter (I am a bounty hunter).” (Allard J)
“I did. A couple of times. Maybe twice before we actually started. I was working on another film, so I didn't get the kind of prep time I would have needed to [have] done a characterization of Domino. Actually Tony said just to make up your own character. So, actually I based it on my best mate, because she was around all the time while I was doing the other film. And I would look at her and go, 'OK, I can keep her in my head.' And then I could do it. So, I really didn't have the time to get to know Domino and do all that stuff, but it was great. She sent me pictures of her and taped interviews and stuff like that. Just so I had an idea of what she thinks with and the stories, her stories. It was really, really helpful. And then I combined that with my best friend and did it that way.” (Allard J)

As long as I can find complex parts, whether on stage, film, or TV, I'll keep doing that. It's really what I am. (Allard J)
I enjoyed Ghost World, though, but didn't really sit there comparing it to my films; I just enjoyed it for what it was. (Allard J)

I think all industries are sexist in nature and I don't think the film industry is any different. (Allard J)
Movie makers are now finding roles that are more apt to older actresses. They see the talent and they want to put it to best use. (Allard J)
“We made one film called Thy Neighbor's Wife in which I got flogged at the public whipping post for adultery. I did my best acting in that film, I guess.” (Allard J)
“A couple of hanging glands have nothing to do with making someone a man.” (Allard J)
“I don't have Steve. There is no having the Steve.” (Allard J)
