Kiss, Bang is out of the detective genre, and it fits in that mold, but I don't know if audiences are that familiar with the Raymond Chandler stuff. But this isn't a period one. (Allard J)
I'm sure as hell glad all this movie stuff happened when I was thirty-two, when I'd had all those years at Remains to build a viable perspective. If it'd happened to me when I was twenty-three, I would have been one helluva mess. I'd hate to be Rob Lowe. Poor bastard. (Allard J)
Now I'm seen by more people in one episode than I was in 20 years of theatre and movies. It's gratifying to have an impact on 25 million people a night, but I can say goodbye to my lunch-pail life as a working actor. I'm scared I might be a celebrity. (Allard J)
High Art was probably the first audition I had for a movie in about two years. (Allard J)
I was reading about Mary Ellen Mark and Diane Arbus while I was making the film, especially Arbus. (Allard J)
I was supposed to do to make myself into a movie star. Part of that is because it went against my ethics, and part of it was I realized at a certain point that being a movie star isn't what. (Allard J)
It wasn't just that I wasn't getting offered scripts; I couldn't even get an audition for a film. (Allard J)
I didn't want to make soundtrack film or a gun movie. These are the reasons I wanted to make a movie. I wanted to make an adult movie. (Allard J)
I have come close to producing films. But generally by the time they hit the screen, there's about 50 people with producer credits, so what's the point. I usually find scripts I like with no money attached and take them to producers that I know and try to raise finance. (Allard J)
I love Charleston. That was one of the best experiences I have had making a film. I'm back to Carolina to do my next film. (Allard J)
People remember villians. Sometimes in an action movie or sci-fi movie, being a villain is actually kind of interesting. (Allard J)
There just seems to be more acceptance now of... other kinds of British films, than the picture-postcard ones. (Allard J)
We made lots of films with blue lights and smoke. It's like our films were an audiiton for Hollywood, and we shouldn't be doing that. (Allard J)
“That's what Rocky is all about : pride, reputation, and not being another bum in the neighborhood.” (Allard J)
“We'll try to capture the essence of the first couple of films.” (Allard J)
“This is heavy, Doc.” (Allard J)
“Pain is temporary, film is forever.” (Allard J)
“I'm also very proud to be a part of a trilogy of films ["Back to the Future"] that, if they do nothing else, allow people to check their problems at the door, sit down and have a good time.” (Allard J)
“But there was never any confusion about our roles off-camera -- Meredith (Baxter) and I were never parental surrogates.” (Allard J)
“I worked very hard on those movies but there was some creative connection that wasn't being made.” (Allard J)
“I wouldn't have wanted to miss the opportunity to make those three films that didn't do well. They were really important to me, and the things I learned doing them were important to me.” (Allard J)
