Quotes of Movie: "The Adventures of Sinbad" [1996]
|
Where have you been? Sinbad: We don't have time for the day's events! You talk to dumb animals? Maeve: And isn't that what I'm doing right now. It's a sailor's secret. Maeve: I don't know, I've never been one for secrets. Have I Dermott? Two heads bounce better than one! Doubar, Firouz: Science.

The way I look at it, this world is growing a little too civilized for me. It's growing up. Growing serious. Growing dull. But out there who knows what worlds await. And out there is our good friend Dim Dim. And I promise to find him, Dermott. Of course, I need a good crew. You enjoyed kissing Rumina, didn't you. Sinbad: Course not. It was all in the line of duty. Maeve: Oh come on. Why don't you just admit it? Sinbad: I did not. Maeve: Did too. Sinbad: Did not. Maeve: Did too. Sinbad: Did not. Maeve: Did too. Sinbad: Did not. Maeve: Did too. I love it when you do magic! Maeve: Your welcome. Concentrate! Maeve: I am concentrating! It's just not working! Dermott doesn't much like you. Sinbad: Well the feeling is mutual. Maeve: He doesn't care for men at all. Sinbad: Oh, I like birds... if they're cooked properly. Now, let's have some fun. Rumina would be proud. [Maeve slaps Sinbad on the chest] [to Dermott] I was worried about you. Sinbad: And I was worried about you, Maeve. You never cease to amaze me. Maeve: The feeling is mutual. You talk to dumb beasts? Maeve: And isn't that what I'm doing right now. If you were have as quick with your wits as you are with your sword you would have realized that he meant you no harm. He was just guarding his mistress. Sinbad: I wan... Maeve: Back off with you. Attempt any trickery and Dermott will have your eyeballs in my hand before you've a time to blink. Sinbad: I just wanted to th... Maeve: Oh, I know what you wanted alright! Haven't I seen the likes of you in my life before. Sea faring men arriving in big ships and taking over any land and people they choose, by force. Sinbad: I just wanted to thank you for helping me. Maeve: Oh. Well, then why didn't you just say so in the first place? Have you not a tongue in your head? So this is how it ends, little brother. Maeve: So long as we go out in a fight for a good cause. Firouz: The only way to go. Such spirit. How mundane. Maeve: It's more than spirit and you know it. Rumina: I have no idea what you're talking about. Maeve: You don't remember me. Rumina: I meet many peasants in my line of work. I dispose of them all the same way. Now you'll feel my wrath. You'll all feel my wrath! [Tries to zap the crew, but her powers fail] Sinbad: Feeling any wrath yet? Maeve: No. But I'm down wind of something rotten. I don't believe it. Doubar: Rumina? Maeve: You two go on. It's time I took care of her once and for all. Sinbad: You're in no shape to take care of anyone but yourself. Come on, let's go! Maeve: Who are you to give me orders? Sinbad: Your captain! And your friend. What? Firouz: I was just admiring your sense of purpose. I mean, you just lead us through a maze without a doubt what so ever. Sinbad: Is that what it looked like to you? I should have been an actor. Firouz: Why do you say that? Sinbad: Because most of the time my sense of purpose amounts to the feeling 'gee, I wonder what would happen if I tried this?'. It's amazing what you accomplish that way. Firouz: I can't believe that with all your years at sea, your previous adventures, that anything could suprise you. Sinbad: I'm surprised everyday, Firouz. It's half the fun of living. Firouz: And the other half? Sinbad: Wondering what's going to suprise me next. [whispers] There's danger here. Doubar: [whispers] Aye, I don't need magic to tell me this isn't a very friendly place. Firouz: [in a normal volume] We should be alright, as long as we keep our heads. Maeve: [whispers] And our voices down! You don't have to come along, Maeve, if you don't want to. There is a strangeness about this place and we'll be slogging over rough terrain in this heat. Maeve: Isn't that just like a sailor, using chivarlry against me. I'm a part of this crew, aren't I. I pull my weight around here, don't I. I will not be left behind. Go to Firouz, I'll take the tiller. Doubar: Awe, the heck with it. Take the tiller, see what I care. Women are taking over the world anyway. There's something about that man I really don't like. Maeve: He's sensitive, poetic, knows how to treat a woman with respect. Course you don't like him. So, is this expiditon of a professional interest, little brother, or are your feelings for Maeve coloring your judgement? Sinbad: I have no more feelings for her than for any other member of my crew. As captain, I'm very concerned, naturally, when one of my crew members starts acting foolishly. That's all. Doubar: Naturally. I know you value your femine intuition Maeve: Femine intuition, is it? Oh! Okay, tell me this. Don't women as brave and as beautiful as Alana generally get attracted to men like you. Sinbad: Why thank you, Maeve. Maeve: It wasn't meant as a compliment. It was meant as a warning. She wants something from Doubar. Sinbad: He's simply showing her some good will, being a perfect gentleman. Maeve: [waves her hand down Sinbad's chest] And she is being a spider, spinning her little web. Sinbad: What? [to Rongar after Maeve leaves] Sinbad: Women. What do you want me to do? You can't just point your finger at the thing and yell 'stop' and it stops! [giant freezes] Sinbad: Nice work. Maeve: Oh, well maybe you can.
