I'm terribly sorry, if I see one I shall inform you immediately. (movies)
Taken in context, what I was saying was that, compared to Europe, America is a very young country and we are still growing as a nation. It is a shame that the metaphor I used was taken so radically out of context and slung about irresponsibly by the news media. There was no anti-American sentiment. In fact, it was just the opposite. I am an American. I love my country and have great hopes for it. It is for this reason that I speak candidly and sometimes critically about it. I have benefited greatly from the freedom that exists in my country and for this I am eternally grateful. (america)
As far as me talking about my movies and the work ive done, yeah. I love it . I could talk about it for hours. But when it comes to me talking about me and my life and the stuff in the media, Id very much love to be someone else, like the rain. The rain is the thing nobody likes to touch and hates. They want it as far away from them as possible. Rain is usally the thing thay fucks up people's day, it pisses them off and makes them want nothing to do with it. Why would you want to want to know every aspect of and consantly talk about the thing you hate? Right now i want to be the media's rain. I want to be the thing thay pray never comes around. The thing obviously not the topic of their conversation. (movies)
The quality of life is so different in France. There is the possibility of living a simple life. I would never contemplate raising my daughter in LA. I would never raise any child there. (country)

There are necessary evils. Money is an important thing in terms of representing freedom in our world. And now I have a daughter to think about. It's really the first time I've thought about the future and what it could be. (evil)
[after pulling his car up onto the sidewalk]
Is this not a reasonable place to park? [Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas quotes] (character)
I'll never understand the animal, the machine of Hollywood business. And I don't want to understand it. It's like joining a club, a clique just because everyone else is in it. You don't have any particular interest in it, and it has nothing to do with who you are as a person. You just join it because it's the thing to do. The quality of life is so different in France. There is the possibility of living a simple life. I would never contemplate raising my daughter in LA. I would never raise any child there. (hollywood)
America is dumb, it's like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive. My daughter is four, my boy is one. I'd like them to see America as a toy, a broken toy. Investigate it a little, check it out, get this feeling and then get out. (america)
You can turn your back on a person, but, never turn your back on a drug. Especially when it's waving a razor-sharp hunting knife in your eye. [Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas quotes] (character)
I was right in the middle of a fucking reptile zoo, and somebody was giving booze to these goddamn things [Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas quotes] (character)
[singing]
What? No. We can't stop here. This is bat country. [Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas quotes] (character)
Raoul Duke: I wouldn't dare go to sleep with you wandering around with a head full of acid, wanting to slice me up with that goddamn knife.
Dr. Gonzo: Who said anything about slicing you up, man. I just wanted to cut a little Z in your forehead." [Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas quotes] (character)
Betweeen now and then, what I'm going to do, I guess, is slobber and drool, and space out.... (work)
Actually I find myself sneaking a look at women's shoes and stockings. I've developed this subconscious habit. It may be a little dangerous -- I'm a little worried. (women)
Normally, my boy will watch for about 3 1/2 seconds and then sprint as fast as he can across the room and go break something, and with this film, we watched 'Corpse Bride' together, and my boy sat on my lap and watched the entire film. Didn't move, was just riveted. Loved it. (movies)
There are only four questions of value in life, Don Octavio. What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same: only love. (life)
We had talked a couple of times about his last wishes to be shot out of a cannon of his own design. All I'm doing is trying to make sure his last wish comes true. I just want to send my pal out the way he wants to go out. (friends and friendsh)
Edward was a total outsider. I really know how that feels. It's pretty rare that a film about a guy with scissors for hands would even get made. (movies)
There is a kind of strange shorthand that it's almost impossible to explain, but it's been there since day one. I've actually had crew members come up to me after watching Tim and I talk about a scene or something and the guy says, 'I watched Tim and you talk for like 10 minutes, and I have no idea what you said, I couldn't understand a word of it.' With Tim it's just much more emotional. I can see it in is eyes, the way he tilts his head a certain way. Or he moves his hands and I can just feel it, you know? (work)
Our biggest fear is to go anywhere near who you are. (fear)
I'm more relaxed since I met Vanessa, I have more distance and therefore I have more perspective. (perspective)
I would do anything Tim [Burton] wanted me to. You know - have sex with an aardvark... I would do it. (sex)
I think it would be great if you one day just went to sleep and woke up and it was 1920s Paris. That would be excellent, ... But I don't know, because there could be just dirt and worms. (dreams)
So this is weird, ... I mean, to say that this is overwhelming is probably the understatement of the millenium. (unknown)
It's ok to use certain truths, [but for] any actor with any semblance of sanity or insanity, that's probably our biggest fear: to go anywhere near who you are. (fear)
